Notifications

Stay informed about changes to your campaigns and communications

Notifications keep you updated on campaigns and communications. You can choose which notifications you receive and view them in the app. This feature is available on all tiers.

1. Understanding Notifications

Notifications alert you to changes and updates in your organization's campaigns and communications. They appear in the app's notification center, so you can stay informed without leaving your workflow.

What notifications do:

  • Alert you to new campaigns and communications
  • Notify you when dates or statuses change
  • Remind you about upcoming deadlines
  • Let you know when you're assigned work
  • Keep you updated on comments, @mentions, and team activity

Where notifications appear:

  • In-app: In the notification center (bell icon in the top navigation), with a badge for your unread count
  • Email: For types you enable in User Settings → Notifications, you can also receive email notifications (title, body snippet, "View details" link, and "Manage notification preferences" link)

Note: You control which notification types you receive and whether each type is in-app only, email only, or both, in User Settings → Notifications.

2. Types of Notifications

Notifications are organized into two categories: Communications and Campaigns. Each type tells you about specific events.

3. Managing Your Notification Preferences

Control which notifications you receive (and whether you get them in-app and/or by email) in User SettingsNotifications tab.

Accessing Notification Preferences

  1. Click your profile icon in the top navigation
  2. Select "User Settings" from the dropdown
  3. Open the "Notifications" tab
  4. The section is labeled "Notifications" with a "Beta" badge and the description: "Manage your notification preferences."
  5. Preferences are organized into sections: Communications, Campaigns, and Mentions

Changing Your Preferences

For each notification type you see:

  • A label (e.g., "New comments on communications")
  • A short description (e.g., "Alert me when someone else comments on a communication I'm following.")
  • Two toggles: In-app and Email

In-app: On = you get in-app notifications for that type; Off = you don't.
Email: On = you get email notifications for that type; Off = you don't.

To change a preference:

  1. Find the notification type in the appropriate section
  2. Toggle In-app and/or Email on or off
  3. The preference saves immediately; a short confirmation appears (e.g. "Email notifications enabled")
  4. If loading or saving fails, an error message is shown—refresh or try again

Default settings: By default, email is on for: assignments (campaign and communication), new comments on communications, new comments on campaigns, and mentions in comments. All other email types default off. In-app defaults are generally on for these types. You can change any of them.

Note: Changes take effect immediately. Email notifications include a title, body snippet, "View details" link to the relevant campaign or communication, and a "Manage notification preferences" link to User Settings.

4. Viewing Your Notifications

View and manage notifications from the notification center.

Opening the Notification Center

  1. Look for the bell icon in the top navigation
  2. Click the bell icon to open the notification center
  3. A badge shows your unread count

The notification center shows:

  • Recent notifications in order (newest first)
  • Unread indicators
  • Notification titles and descriptions
  • Timestamps

Reading Notifications

Each notification shows:

  • Title — what happened
  • Body — details about the event
  • Timestamp — when it was created
  • Visual indicator — whether it's read or unread

Unread notifications appear highlighted or with a visual indicator. Read notifications appear in a normal style.

Marking Notifications as Read

Mark individual notifications:

  • Click a notification to open it and mark it as read
  • The notification is marked read when you interact with it

Mark all as read:

  • In the notification center, click "Mark all as read"
  • All unread notifications are marked read at once

Note: Clicking a notification automatically marks it as read and takes you to the relevant item.

5. Interacting with Notifications

Notifications link to the relevant content.

Opening Notifications

For communication notifications:

  • Clicking opens the communication modal
  • You can view details, edit, and add comments

For campaign notifications:

  • Clicking takes you to the campaign view
  • You can see campaign details and make changes

For assignment notifications:

  • Clicking takes you to the My Assignments page
  • You can see all your assignments in one place

For comment notifications:

  • Clicking opens the relevant campaign or communication
  • You can view and respond to comments

Archiving Notifications

You can archive notifications you no longer need.

Archive individual notifications:

  • Click the archive icon (X or trash) on a notification
  • The notification is removed from your active list

Clear all notifications:

  • Click "Clear all" or "Archive all" in the notification center
  • All notifications are archived at once

Note: Archiving removes notifications from your active list but doesn't delete them permanently. You can still access archived notifications if needed.

6. Notification Best Practices

Follow these tips to get the most out of notifications:

Managing preferences:

  • Enable notifications for items you're responsible for
  • Disable types that aren't relevant to your role
  • Review preferences periodically
  • Enable assignment notifications if you work on assigned items

Staying organized:

  • Check notifications regularly
  • Mark notifications as read after reviewing them
  • Archive old notifications to keep your list clean
  • Use "Mark all as read" when catching up

Team coordination:

  • Keep important notifications enabled
  • Enable comment notifications for active discussions
  • Enable status change notifications to track progress
  • Enable assignment notifications to see new work

Note: Notifications help you stay informed, but you control which ones you receive. Adjust your preferences to match your workflow and responsibilities.

7. Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving notifications I expect:

  • Check your notification preferences in User Settings
  • Make sure the notification type is enabled
  • Verify you have permission to view the related content

I'm receiving too many notifications:

  • Go to User Settings and disable notification types you don't need
  • Focus on types relevant to your role
  • You can always re-enable them later

Notifications aren't appearing:

  • Refresh the page
  • Check your internet connection
  • Make sure notifications are enabled for the relevant types

I can't see the notification center:

  • Look for the bell icon in the top navigation
  • If you don't see it, check with your team administrator about your permissions
  • All users should have access to view their own notifications
